Seven Habits

Not many people will disagree with the principles presented in the book “The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People” by Steven Covey (Free Press, 1989). However, I was always wondering about how much rigor one has to put into ones life to live by these principles. I know many will disagree but these principles, while delivering good to one's personal and professional life, does not leave much room for the creativity, innovation and simple joy of living.

And guess what, after all, some folks have found this book to be overrated. Here is the story. Instead, they recommend us to read Machiavellian "The Prince". Seems to me that there might be some relevance. In general people have to be politically much savvy to survive in this world of cutthroat competition.

Have you had the chance to read "The Prince". Will you share with us some insights from that book?

Their our problems with knowing what is effective, according to article. Wat is it? The internet makes so many things possible and make happen that you never meet person on other side of screen! How can we be sure this is effective?

In Asia, where I live and work to support my family and my community, we must all be effective, butt we knew each other - all the time. On internet, you don't know person typing!!!

znet in asia wrote article about who is at risk - we trust too much of internet and the personalities and such.

This simply is my opinion, feel free to comment on it.

Let us give credit where credit is due. The 'Seven Habits' was "borrowed" from the British version of "Six and a Half Habits of Interoffice Dating". This was a raunchy situation comedy that aired on BBC2 during the 70's. The show was full of bullocks, twats, tarts, minges, scottish eggs, bottoms, bums, and poor oral hygeine. Anyway, the effective and discrete use of flirting in the pursuit of office romance was found to be quite valuable when applied to actual business. So the next time you stare at the secretary's bottom, think 'bottom line'. And pour a little lager on the pub floor for the late Benny Hill, the greatest bird-chasing businessman who ever lived.

If you didn’t happen to catch the half time show, I will give you a short synopsis of the Prince halftime show. Prince comes out and does a shitty rendition of Lets Go Crazy, Rollin down the river, The Best and his grand finale of Purple Rain, all bad songs that scream safe, but he really did it up during Purple Rain when he broke out his “Symbol Guitar” and a huge screen so you could see his silhouette playing. Cut away to a huge screen with Prince playing his guitar that resembled a huge fallic device during his rendition of Purple Rain. Ridiculous!

in Bahrain, we still honor the royal family. The prince is a leader and justice of the land.

We throw British out, so mahatma coat, you are wrong. There is no behavior in such a place. We honor the prince, and all royalty. You drive them into tunnel in france to their death. You brits can stick it up your butt.

and I don't know dick and wat he seiz, but Prince is good. This i agree.

Please stop spamming this thread. I ask question about effectiveness and the value of the internet. You all comment on unrelated topics!

When we work tough, hard problems, we work it hard. We go back and forth on the issue, until an eruption of success. My american colleagues says that it can really "suck" - but what appears to be surrender is really a "buckling down" on the issue.

As the job reaches completion, pent up emotions come screaming out. That's when you know you have reached success.

Sounds like someone's used to working by himself! HA HA. For me, I like to probe deep and push through the resistance. I know I've reached success when I hear the fat lady singin'

hahaha. internet fun, no? what u say sounds so "akinleye" In my language that is slang for when you push between the front and the back of a woman....there is this flesh between the holes on the underside, you know this?

We joke saying things like, i've been pushing all night, but AKINLEYE! I can't get my root in her front or her back. Kinda like trying to shift the car between the gears...you push push push...you pull pull pull...but just AKINLEYE!

oh damn it, akinleye sux, you know this?

Let me tell you what is hard. It is hard to break certain habitual routines. You have to get your hands around the issue and really work it.

If not, you develop lazy habits - just grabbing willy-nilly at whatever gets you off. That is no way to approach a serious issue.

When you have rigid deadlines, you just have to strap the helmet on, grasp the task and don't give up until you bust out, flush with success.

Sure you may sweat, you may become sore, but when the backlog builds up and you need release the pressure, its important to give it your all. That is a top "Seven Habits"

A word of caution - some may think that they are masters at this craft. Others may grasp at that bait - just don't be caught being a Master baiter. If you can remember this, you will succeed

OK Mustaf,

Sounds like you've been playin' a little game of "stem the rose"...why don't you sit this next round out, eh champ?

I agree with Hugh. Let me tell you, Dick Wigglin knows pressure and when Dick feels pressure, Dick needs to release that pressure. And when Dick releases that pressure, Dick isn't about master this or master that, Dick is about standing tall and crowing! And Dick Wigglin isn't afraid to get right in your face and shove it down your throat if you don't like it!

There is no need to be so full of controversy and confrontation. I only explain the frustration of blunted thrusts into the unyielding taint It akin to ramming your foreskin over and over into the stiff hide of a sheep. There are some days where you just realize that you have woken up on the wrong side of the camel.

Nice Job Mustaf:
1. Open browser
2. Write animal-erotica
3. Face ridicule on the web

I think you have it down to a science...there's an American concept you need to know, sheep-banger, TMI

Look it up,

What is going on this site? I did a google search for technology + business + airlines + management among a few other terms and found this site?

What is going on here? Can we discuss and not spam? Don't you think the Internet has enough of that?

What's going on here? Is this for real?

But the real question is - what to do with a professor - who is so thin and pale that you can read what is written on the whiteboard behind her? I mean - do you throw food at her in the hopes that some of it will land in her mouth?

Anil,
I have some recommendations. First, double cheeseburgers are essential in any attempt to combat anorexia. Second, people who drive jaguars usually have a pickle up their anus. In this case, I recommend a larger pickle, sort of like a pickle that is a brother to Mark McGwire. Lastly, if you think a Killer Whale has gone crazy, then you are wrong, the Killer Whale has gone Killer Whale...stop thinking with your dip stick JIMMY!
